Modern death metal just can't compete with this. No DAW, no quantizing of the drums, no aligning perfectly to the grid, etc. Doc really played this, this ferociously. And the follow-up, Black to the Blind, is even more nuts. To quote John Longstreth, Doc was the "baddest European drummer of his time". World Eater

Got this at a used record store recently and had to get the digital. This is the straightforward aggressive death metal that everyone needs in their collection. I challenge you to find a better album to headbang to🤟 9RnK7

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
