I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
AMAZING Black Metal/Death Metal, one of the best albums out of this style since the 90’s. Obviously everyone is compared to Dissection - and this is as close to that level as I’ve heard in a long time - but this is much heavier and thrashier with a lot different lyrical content, much more based in Norse content. Thanks for leeding me here, Ippocalyptica. This is indeed compareable to Marthyrium's 2023 masterpiece in terms of relentlessness and intensity. The guitars are sharp enough to cut through diamonds. The dissonance and the melodies are perfectly woven together with the fierce, unmistakingly French vocals. Since this is 8 years old, a follow-up would be greatly apprechiated. mourner
